Backpacks have their own special place in one’s bag collection. I like them because like the sling bag, they allow us to be handsfree. They are the best to carry around for short trips or to carry your laptop in. There is a tad bit of risk involved as well – as it is not in our sight when we carry it which leaves it vulnerable to thefts especially in crowded places. I once lost €500 in Louvre Museum, Paris. Since then I have become twice careful in this regard – I choose bags with a zipped external pouch at their back. Some of the bags in this slideshow have this feature and I have highlighted them for you.
I have these trendy finds from Jabong and Flipkart. My favourite among them is the one by Steve Madden which is also the most expensive; fringes and studs – a hot current trend. My next favourite is the backpack with a very novel design from Murcia. Coming from NIFT Delhi alumni, it is innovation at its best. Then there is a bag in neon colors – doesn’t appeal to me personally but I see quite a following of neon. I have tried to pick bags of varied materials from suede to cotton to pure leather and polyurethane. Cost details of each bag are included in the corresponding slide.
