Envelope Clutches

Bag of the Week: Envelope Clutches

What do you do when you simply cannot stuff your “essentials” in a clutch? Truth of the matter is, as pretty little things as clutches are, they are always space-strapped. The smartest thing to do, hence, is to upgrade to an envelope clutch. Envelope clutches are statement makers in themselves; thanks to the large size and splendid designs they come in, they are instant attention-grabbers. For once, you do not need to squint to make out the pattern on it. Most usually come with a detachable shoulder strap so they also keep you hands-free when needed unlike the regular clutch.

While going through envelope clutches online, I was smitten more than once. I’ve managed to bring it down to two at long last. And I spotted this white jumpsuit with dense flower print at the yoke and with it I have two looks with the two bags.  The red one has pattern blocking while the white has an asymmetrical flap with hanging gold spikes. And to think of such classy bags costing below INR 1,000! I tried to keep the accessories in the same color family and found the perfect houndstooth pumps to match the gingham checks. I wanted simple red studs to go with the red clutch, but it was the most difficult task of putting this look together! Perhaps I wasn’t looking in the right places after all. Hope you find some style inspiration from these looks and make my work all worth it!
