4 Sling Bags from Baggit

I need to be handsfree when I am shopping or when I am managing my baby. Sling bags perfectly fit into this slot, hence each time I visit a bag shop, I am drawn to the section housing these. In addition to allowing me such freedom, I feel it also helps to distribute its weight across the body. The best part is, they can be easily converted to shoulder bags with the adjustable strap. Inorbit Mall in Bangalore has an exclusive Baggit showroom and I found these following bags rather interesting and functional. I must mention that the store assistants there were rather helpful and tirelessly showed me all the bags in detail.

To start with, one that also happens to be my favourite, we have the Donald Farina Brown sling bag. It is my favourite because it is perfectly sized, has enough compartments – including a small front pouch, a central compartment with a zipped pocket, another zipped pocket at the back that has the mobile pouch in it. The shoulder strap is broad that adds to the comfort. The hardware for this bag is dull brass that goes well with the brown and the trims are olive green. The long strap on the front flap with the buckle is only ornamental; the flap has a magnetic button closure under it. It costs a nominal INR 1,550.

My next favourite is the Patakadi Year in blue. It’s got a fresh, youthful look with a small semi-circle flap having a metallic ring at the center that helps to keep the flap in place. The shoulder strap is narrower than the Donald Farina, but should still be fine. It has a main zipped compartment and an inner, smaller zipped pocket. This also features a mobile pouch in the zipped pocket at the back. Patakadi Year is available at Jabong for INR 1,400.

Next is the Radial Jhuti sling, which comes from the popular Jhuti collection with the braided exterior texture. While the other two have a portrait orientation, this one, and the next are landscape oriented. Space-wise, very well endowed, with the central zippered section being further divided into two by a divider zipper pocket, an inner small zippered pocket as customary, one at the back with a mobile pouch. The front flap has a magnetic button closure underneath. The shoulder strap is broader than the Patakadi, yet not quite as the Donald Farina. The other small details are the dull brass hardware and brown leather trims. This is the most expensive of the lot at INR 1,625.

The last one is the Quick Jhuti, again from the Jhuti collection. This bag has a very feminine bow on the front flap that also has a very subtle pleat. The one I saw was in a bright orange shade. While the compartments are comparable to the above, this one does not have a mobile pouch. Both the Jhuti’s are available in other color variants. It is priced at INR 1,550.
