Bag of the Week

Bag of the Week: Inspired by the Blue Runway

Tarini Nirula Clutch

The Lakme Fashion Week SS’15 may have ended but the grandiose of the Manish Malhotra Blue Runway still lingers fresh in my mind. I think blue has become my favorite color after this show! Taking heavy inspiration from this collection is this week’s bag and look – in a combination of gold and blue. The clutch is by Tarini Nirula in zari embroidery, which is the perfect accessory to this regal ensemble. The saree and bangle are from Jabong and the antique gold blouse is by Pooja & Urvika at DesignEmporia. The earrings are from Juvalia.

Tarini Nirula Clutch

Clutch: Tarini Nirula at Pernia’s Pop-up Shop, INR 3,800
Saree: Jabong, INR 998
Blouse: DesignEmporia, INR 16,600
Earrings: Juvalia, INR 1,250
Bangle: Jabong, INR 499

Style Tips: The clutch, saree and blouse are a heavy weight combination. The rest of the accessories need to be kept to a minimum so that the look doesn’t turn OTT. A neckpiece has been omitted for this reason. But it’s fine if you include delicate jewelry. For makeup, go for gold eye makeup and a blue toned red lipstick. And prepare to take in all the admiring glances!

Vidya Gupta

Mother to three lovely boys and wife of a banking professional, I am extremely passionate about a host of topics, bags being one of them. For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!
