To give a brief introduction of PANTONE – they are “the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries.” They have announced the Color of the Year 2014, which is Radiant Orchid. For 2013 it was Emerald Green. They provide an apt description for Radiant Orchid:
“Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”
As the description goes, it encompasses quite a few hues from fuschia, purple and pink. This is a royal color and I found some great bags fitting the bill in my hunt. Bags in this color could almost act as a statement accessory in themselves. Hence, it would be best to keep the other accessories to a minimum or subdued so that the bag is the centerpiece of your outfit. I have collected both ethnic as well as contemporary pieces, so that you can take your pick according to occasion. Of course, this is by no means exhaustive; just to give you an idea of the lovely shade of these bags.
