Discover The Purple Sack by NIFT Delhi Alumni

The journey of BagsLounge gets increasingly exciting each time we discover new Indian brands in the business of bag-making. Today, we introduce you to Tanvi Gupta and Pratiti Bansal, the dynamic talented twosome from NIFT Delhi, who have given the lowly sack a fashionable makeover with The Purple Sack. Let the name not disillusion you – they have accessories in all hues of the color spectrum and an entire range from bags to belts to jewellery and shoes. Bags are still at the core of their portfolio and understandably so, as that’s what they started off with initially. Tanvi and Pratiti studied Accessory Design at NIFT and realized soon that this was a segment with practically unlimited potential. No wonder then that they have now diversified into more than 20 product lines!

Their collection of bags is bifurcated based on theme: Printomania with faces as its inspiration and Naqsh with Indian motifs and embroidery. There is something for every age and taste – satchels, clutches, laptop bags, sling bags & customised bags. Three years into its launch in 2010, The Purple Sack debuted at the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week this year. What’s more, Imam Siddique even showstopped for them! In spite of all the stunning embroidery and the elite platforms they have been part of, the surpise element is their affordability, starting at INR 1,000.
