I like the molten metal look on bags – and have seen quite a few of them in the fall collections. It looks really chic but of course, be sure to tone down the rest of your outfit so that focus remains on the bag. True, it may not be ideal for daily purpose, but I think a good bag collection must include at least a couple of these beauties.
First up is this silver textured leather tote by Rochas. It is a vanilla design with absolutely no frills attached. It has two flat leather handles. This costs $1,532.
Next is the classic Givenchy Antigona in gun metal. This bag exudes sheer class and costs $2,182, but honestly drool worthy. This bag is from the Fall ’13 collection.
Then comes a clutch by Diane von Furstenberg – the Small Lytton Quilted Metallic Leather clutch. Apart from the square-shaped quilted pattern, the twig clasp is another distinguishing feature, though I thought it did not go too well with the rest of the body. This retails for a more nominal $325.
Another classic bag in metallic color is the Stella McCartney Three Chain Falabella Snakeskin bag. Also from the Fall ’13 collection, this bag costs $1,180.
A mini bag from Alexander Wang caught my attention in the metallic department, also because minis are quite in trend these days. It is the Silver Tri-fold Shoulder bag. This is from the Spring ’13 collection:
The last among this list is the Miranda Quilted-Side Tote Silver from Michael Kors, made of natural grained calf leather. This is part of the Fall ’13 collection and retails for $1,095. The design is minimalist as the quilted diagonal pattern is moved to the sides rather than in the center.
There are many others as well – one to suit every taste and budget. The above is a collection of what I found interesting. Do the metallic hold any appeal for you? Which one would be your favourite? Mine is the Givenchy Antigona hands down!
