Limited edition bags are a collectors’ delight and when they are associated with noble causes, the purchase becomes guilt free! Tommy Hilfiger enters the seventh year of supporting Breast Health International that, as the name indicates, is dedicated to the research and study of breast cancer. One-third of the proceeds from the sale of the limited edition handbag will flow to BHI. Supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell also throw their weight around this charitable program.
The bag in question is a cross between a tote and a satchel. The essential color is corporate blue; bright red side panels and front pocket flap add the right pop of color. The exterior is made of Italian pebbled leather. The bag has ample storage space – two central compartments divided by a zippered pocket, another zippered interior pocket on one side, mobile pouch, and a large exterior pocket. There is a white tag on the front encasing a brass disc that has the brand name inscribed on it. It also has rounded metal feet under the bag to protect the leather. There are white accents on the interior zips. The bag costs € 299.90 but sadly is not available in India, though you can try through their online store tommy.com.
Coach supports the Murdoch Children’s Institute for advancement of research in child related health disorders like diabetes, obesity and cancer. There is no limited edition bag introduced but 10% of proceeds of their Legacy Haley Satchel and Large Carryalls in October go to the institute. Both bags start from around USD 350.
The effort by these luxury bag makers is commendable. They are contributing in whatever way they can. The fact that none of the above bags are exorbitantly priced will surely help with the sales. Such causes need support from all corners of the world.
