Review: Caprese Martha Satchel

While out shopping for some footwear at Reliance Footprint, I happened to check out the Martha Satchel from Caprese. I had seen the bag on their website and its large size made me keen to see it physically. It appeared to be a perfect formal-wear companion. Read on to know whether or not it matched my expectations.

The bag I checked out was a beautiful coral shade. It’s bright, but at the same time not overly so. It has an external pocket on the front with a flap and another wide zippered pocket on the back. I love such small external pockets that allow easy access to frequently used items. Full marks for the central zip that starts from almost the bottom of the bag – I have seen this feature in many of Caprese’s bags. This allows a wide opening making it very handy to reach the inner corners, especially when there is minimal light around. On the flip side, it might be a challenge to close the zip when handling with one hand.

Rolled handles are not my favourite when it comes to comfort, but I am ready to overlook that here, as it goes perfectly well with the rest of the bag’s design. Coming to the inside, there is one central section that is quite spacious. On one side are two pouches next to each other and on the other, is a zippered pocket that is detached from the lining, thus creating an open pouch in between. At the lining is another zippered pocket. These smaller pockets and pouch help to organize the little stuff. Take a look at the picture below; the placement of the pouches/zips would be much clear.

The bag is available in two other colors – brown (almost black) and indigo. It retails for INR 2,499, though on sites such as Flipkart, is available starting INR 2,375. The exterior is faux leather and the interior is polyester. This is a highly recommended bag providing ample space, utilitarian and stylish as well.

For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. • Such a poor quality, not expected from such a big brand. A bag of rs2000 get useless in just six months shocking. It’s better to buy a product from local market so we can easily exchange or get return it to the seller.
