Hidesign is keeping up with the times – once upon a time I could see mostly browns and blacks in their stores. These days it’s quite colourful – with blues, yellows, reds and greens. Along with that, the quality stays intact as always. Today I happened to check out Norah 01 Pebble Beak Shoulder Bag.

It is a simple, bright, no-frills bag. There is no exterior pocket at all. There are 3 central compartments, two with zips and one with a magnetic button clasp. All three sections have a single thin flap band that has a magnetic button closure as well. There is a small trough at the place where the flap comes across the central sections. The lack of an exterior pocket is made up by having the central section with the magnetic clasp, so there is no hassle of fumbling for the zip, opening it and then accessing contents; one can simply slide their hand inside for quick-access items. The standard features of an inner zipped pocket and mobile pouches are present. There is a key holder inside which is a practically useful feature; I have lost count of the number of times I have stood at the door of my house desperately trying to fish out the keys from the depths of my bag. The hardware is silver metallic, giving the look of steel. It has two flat leather handles, that are not extensible, neither is there a separate shoulder strap. The stitch on the handles has been accentuated which does add to the overall aesthetics of the bag. Norah 01 is available in black and blue variants as well.

It retails for INR 4,895 though you would get multiple offers online, with Flipkart itself offering 30% off on select payment options. You also have the option of EMI through them. Norah 01 Shoulder Bag is good for formal wear – the color is not too bright for an official environment – if you are fine to overlook the lack of exterior pockets.
