Review: Lavie Seattle Med U Satchel

Lavie Seattle Med U Satchel

These days I scour the handbags section in any mall or shop I enter. Some store assistants look at me quizzically as they try to make sense of the detailed study I carry out! The markets are inundated with handbags and picking out hidden gems from them does demand time and energy. The resultant finds make the whole exercise worth it. Today’s bag in focus is the Seattle Med U Satchel from Lavie.

Now, Lavie has an elaborate spread of satchels. You’d be confused where to start at their stores! Yet, the Seattle Med U stands out – bold and beautiful. Among all the browns and blacks, it beckons you with its cheerful white, blue and orange, fit for the upcoming spring season. Add to it the size and there’s no way one can walk past it without giving it an appreciative glance. It is so roomy you can have all your daily essentials and still be left with more space!

Apart from the color mix, it’s the finer details that appealed to me – the three small blue flowers in a corner, the braid detailing on the sides and the central dip at the opening of the bag; makes accessing the zips and contents that much easier. The thin shoulder straps are easy to handle and keep out of way when rummaging within. But yes, they might not be too comfortable when you load the bag heavily. The sections within are the standard ones – two central zipped compartments, an inner small zipped section and mobile pouches, one zipped pocket at the external back. The insides too are the standard Lavie lining. All this for INR 3,070 seems to be slightly overpriced but it is going to last you a long time for sure, if you can put in that little extra effort to keep the light colors in their pristine state.

Mother to three lovely boys and wife of a banking professional, I am extremely passionate about a host of topics, bags being one of them. For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!
