Take A Peek Into My Everyday Handbag Collection!

I am a handbag hoarder – well, that’s anybody’s guess by now – albeit a rather choosy one! I need value for money at all times, without exception. Space is another constraint when it comes to bags; a graver problem than it is for clothes. You can’t just stack them up, they need to be properly stuffed and stored. That’s the reason my handbag wardrobe contains just my staples and no more. And the staples according to me are: a black/tan/neutral no-frills bag that’s apt for the office and that also doubles up as a tote, a large satchel with a crossbody strap and a smaller sling bag. Apart from these, I also have my official laptop bag, which is essentially a backpack, and a small wallet for the 3 Cs – cash, coins and cards.

Last week, I shot the first three bags and here’s what they look like:

First, is this black Calvin Klein bag which I just can’t stop gushing over. It can fit in my official needs with ease. The exterior is tough and rugged, which is what I look for in everyday-use bags, to minimize wear-n-tear and maintenance requirements.

Next, is this Steve Madden satchel in neutral tones with black and bright lemon-colored details. It’s a spacious bag for when you are in the mood to carry your whole world with you. And that tasseled zip-puller is the proverbial icing on the cake! It is almost a stress-buster to feel those smooth tassels over my fingers!

Now for this cute little sling bag by Caprese. It is for those quick errands and when you require a handsfree experience. The best part is that the bag is amply compartmentalized. And that color is to swoon for!

Ah yes, there is one more staple – how can I forget the good old clutch! Here we have this gorgeous tie-dye clutch by EvaExports. It would be ideal for ethnic wear but as you can see below, it gels beautifully with casual/formal wear also and gives an elegant fusion vibe. It comes with a detachable chain strap. The brand has these in a multitude of colors, so just go and ask them for a complete catalogue. They have some unique and smart bags/clutches up their sleeve.

Vidya Gupta

Mother to three lovely boys and wife of a banking professional, I am extremely passionate about a host of topics, bags being one of them. For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!
