What’s New at Baggit?

Baggit Life Aquatic

Plenty. When I walked into the exclusive Baggit store in Inorbit Mall, Bangalore last weekend, I found myself gaping at the bags lined up column after column. It seemed like I had been in their store after long – almost everything seemed like a new arrival. So I captured my top picks and here I am, loaded with information for all you fabulous readers!

First up is the Life Aquatic Collection. As is anybody’s guess, the graphics and colors are inspired by the deep waters. The collection has sizes ranging from the humble wallet to a giant sized shoulder bag. My picks are the mid-sized bags as always – lesser hassle, lesser chance of stuffing them with all and sundry. The sling bags with the marine illustration are my favourite; the official name is L Codlet Dingdong. Incidentally, the names are also inspired by the creatures of the sea. The prices start from INR 1,200 to INR 2,950. Functionality-wise they are very typical of Baggit – well organized and multiple compartments. But I would have liked to see something more, coming as the collection is from Baggit – a few new styles, unique colors and not the usual brown and blue. Baggit is very much capable of it; I just felt not much thought went into this theme which otherwise holds tremendous potential.

Next up is their huge array of sling bags, envelope clutches and satchels mostly in pastels. Definitely more impressive than the Life Aquatic range. The material with its glaze-like finish in the below images is a wonderful offering – there is no change in texture to the touch yet it would do you a world of good in warding off blemishes and soiling due to dust.

Of late I have begun to love this loop closure flaps and want to own at least one such bag.

Their slings give you the toughest time – choosing among them is indeed a daunting task. They come in different sizes so you’ll always find the exact match for your requirement. The orange one on the right with the fold over flap and twist lock closure appeals to me the most.

Now, the cutest thing I noticed! Baggit also has a lunch bag! It is rather spacious with enough room for boxes, a tumbler, bottle and cutlery. I only hope they bring out more colors or rather already have more colors in this one – I only saw black at the store. It costs INR 950. They also have a new toiletry case; again compact yet lots of room to organize your stuff. Perfect for travel!

Besides all the above, Baggit has been the proud sponsor of LFW and the runway bags are up for grabs at their website and stores, with quite a few for the men as well. So take out a good chunk of time over the weekend and visit them; the bags will enthrall you to no end!
