You’ll find an interesting story about The Savoy, London and Guccio Gucci, founder of Gucci, there. To that, I would like to add, why the elevator job was so coveted by Gucci. For one, it gave him the chance to ride the elevator with famous personalities – Frank Sinatra and Winston Churchill, to name a few – and in the process expand his network among the who’s-who in London. This networking would later hold him in good stead when he would launch his own leather goods line. The other, equally interesting reason was – The Savoy was the first hotel in the world to put the electric elevator into operation. It was also the first to install electric lights. This was way back in the early 20th century. Such exclusivity, along with other lavish innovations in stay and dining, ensured that it became the most-sought after hotel among the upper class of society.
Gucci knew how to use his experience as an elevator operator to elevate his own business to dizzying heights! And very apt that this contest makes the elevator an integral part of participation! Good luck!
Bags Lounge, great bags design, what I did not find was information on Indian handmade bags. There are many good types of handmade bags available in India. I saw some of the samples in a site called GiftPiper.com- http://giftpiper.com/Handbags-Jholas-catid-45450-page-1.html & http://giftpiper.com/Clutches-Potli-bags-catid-45451-page-1.html
Looking forward to more information on these posts
