At the Maheka Mirpuri’s show early this week in Mumbai, the ever-radiant Deepti Bhatnagar was seen with a Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Satin Knot clutch. The color was co-ordinated with her white outfit.
‘Intrecciato’ refers to the intricate weaving pattern of leather that is unique to Bottega Veneta. According to PurseBlog, when the company started making bags in the 1960s, their sewing machines were meant to be used with cloth and not leather, as they were into clothing at the time. Hence, they used thin leather that would easily go under the needles. This leather was then put together and woven into this pattern to lend strength and durability to the bags. The striking visual effect created in the process has stayed with the brand ever since.
This is a box clutch, as can be made out from the picture. It is decently spacious inside, for a clutch. It retails for around $1,300; yes, expensive it is. But then, icons, such as this, never come cheap!
