Discover: Elespry’s Range of Designer Handbags

Elespry Bags

To say that I was super charged on seeing Elespry bags is putting it way too mildy. I was that excited because these bags have all the makings of cult favorites. They are a perfect culmination of minimalism, style, sophistication, practicality and, very importantly, affordability and you’ll shortly see why. Launched as recently as January 2015, the young brand has already made their presence felt in the fashion world. The name is derived from two English words that aptly sum up what the brand stands for – Elegance + Spry (fun and full of life).

No matter how deeply engrossed one is in their profession, true passion can never be suppressed for long. Sooner or later it finds ways to manifest itself. Founder Meenal Narang’s foray into the world of fashion accessories is a classic case in point. Fourteen years into the financial industry and spotting a void in the market for fashionable yet reasonable bags was enough for her to launch her own line of handbags – a line that would cater to the requirements of every lady irrespective of her vocation with an inherent element of style. Her story is an inspiration to legions of women out there who think it is too late to follow their passion as they think they are stuck in a rut.

You’d find all the most wanted shapes – from totes to shoulder bags and clutches. They are impactful even with their minimalism as great attention has been paid to the details – take, for instance, the contrast lining material that provides just a hint of color but that cannot be ignored, or that lone chain in gold against a stark black body or the elongated tassels. The bags are designed to help you stay sorted as they contain separate compartments for everyday essentials. Whether you are plain lazy (like me!) or hard pressed for time, you will come to appreciate these low maintenance bags that are made of faux leather. I can’t help but see the same streaks of brilliance as in Mansur Gavriel bags as they too have sober design aesthetics yet are a much sought after brand in the international handbag market. It is for this reason that these bags will resonate with much of the modern class who want to make a statement yet not go over-the-top.

Price-point-wise they are in the sub-INR 5,000 range. Incidentally, the below bags are available at Jabong for a discount of 50% as part of an ongoing sale. I’m definitely looking forward to see loads of more designs from this promising new entrant in the handbag space! You can check out their website at Elespry.com and follow them on Facebook here. And now you can feast your eyes on these pictures!

Mother to three lovely boys and wife of a banking professional, I am extremely passionate about a host of topics, bags being one of them. For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!

  • Hi, I ordered a brown Elespry handbag a month ago and it looked as fabulous as it did in pictures . It was so precious I decided to use it on special occasions only. Sadly within three weeks and 5-6 uses one of the hinges holding the handles together came off. I have emailed the company hoping they will help me out. It was quite a disappointment to me as these bags aren’t as affordable as Baggit and other Indian brands but turned out to be less durable than them.

    • Hi Rucha – sad to hear about your experience. Hope the company is helping you out with a replacement. I will get your feedback across to them.

      Thanks for letting us know!
