First things first. This has been a delayed post and my apologies for that! Let’s dive right into the matter and see which bags from Hidesign add flair to our travel this time around.
This review is about 3 strolley bags which suit business travel to the T – Green Jackson 02, Kingsley 02 and Phaeton 02. They are austere when it comes to looks, which is a basic requirement of formal bags, yet high on the style factor and the functionality is very thoughtful.
Here is why I say the design is thoughtful:
• They are compact making it easy to manoeuvre.
• They are fully organized – with slots for all business essentials like laptop, chargers, documents and stationery.
• When you open the main compartment of the bag, there are two strips holding the shallow side in place, which contains the laptop pouch, preventing it from slamming and damaging the laptop/gadget.
• Optimal use of space without cramming the contents.
• All bags come with a lock to the central compartment.
• All sections are well padded providing additional security to the contents.
• There is a short top handle apart from the telescopic longer one used to drag the bag on its wheels. The telescopic arrangement allows the length to be adjusted.
Two things that you might need to watch out for:
• The cost – at INR 13,695, INR 15,095 and INR 15,695 respectively, the bags aren’t exactly cheap. But think of it as a premium you are paying for a genuine product with high-quality ingredients. It’s more of an investment than an expenditure.
• The tare weight could be slightly on the higher side given the genuine leather and sturdy build but of course the allowances vary across airlines.
My personal preference is the Green Jackson 02 and the Kingsley 02. I like that vertical strip of contrasting color on the front. But if I had to narrow it down to just one, it will be the Kingsley 02, perhaps because I am already in love with Kingsley 03!
